Amway Center attracts some of the biggest names in music and comedy. Here are the acts coming to this great Orlando concert venue in November 2022.

November Amway Center Lineup

Christian Nodal: “Forajido Tour”

Christian Nodal taught himself how to play piano and guitar as a child in Sonora, Mexico. Few self-trained artists have achieved as many accolades as the musician. He has won three Grammys, two Billboard Music Awards, an American Music Award, and a Lo Nuestro Award.

Even more impressive, Apple Music named 23-year-old Nodal the most successful regional Mexican artist of all time.

Nodal has released three LPs, two EPs, and over two dozen singles. In 2021, he released a collaborative album with Los Plebes del Rancho. He’s also sung with pop royalty on songs like “Cuando Me Dé la Gana” by Christina Aguilera.

The singer brings his 22-city “Forajido Tour” to Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 8 p.m.

Bill Burr: “Slight Return Tour”

You might know actor and comedian Bill Burr from one of his many late-night TV appearances. Maybe you know him from his roles on wildly popular TV shows like Breaking Bad or The Mandalorian. Or from his hilarious stand-up comedy specials like the Grammy-nominated “Paper Tiger.”

Or perhaps you’re an avid listener of Monday Morning Podcast, which he’s hosted since 2007.

No matter how you know the brash comedy legend, seeing him live is an unforgettable experience.

Bill Burr will tell it like it is at the Amway Center. His “Slight Return Tour” comes to Orlando on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 7 p.m.

Make Your Way to Rosen Inn

After an incredible night at the Amway Center, keep the party going at Rosen Inn on International Drive.

Our clean, comfortable, and affordable hotel is a short drive from the Amway Center. We’re also close to Orlando’s top restaurants, bars, and attractions.

Enjoy teppanyaki favorites while supporting a worthy cause. Come feast on a three-course meal at the award-winning Orlando restaurant and watch as a skilled chef prepares your entrée (teriyaki chicken with your choice of steak, shrimp, or salmon) tableside. This year’s menu serves up flavorful Japanese cuisine for $40 per person (plus tax and gratuity).

One dollar from each Magical Dining meal will be donated to Florida nonprofit The Able Trust. The proceeds will help the organization help local teens with disabilities explore career paths.

Air Supply

Did you know Air Supply’s singers, Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell, bonded over a love for The Beatles and singing, hustled their way into the music industry, and then matched The Beatles with the same amount of consecutive top-five singles?

Tenors Russel and Hitchcock met in 1975 during rehearsals for Jesus Christ Superstar playing in Sydney, Australia. The two hit it off and would play at pizza parlors, coffee bars, and nightclubs with one guitar and two majestic voices after nightly performances on the theater stage. Their great voices and original songs, which Graham wrote, grew their popularity. The two made a two-song demo –  “Love and Other Bruises” and “If You Knew Me.” They took it to every record company they could find.

Everyone turned it down except one, CBS Records.

In the same year, they opened for Rod Stewart in Australia, the U.S., and Canada. They gained new fans, but they still struggled to break the U.S. market. In Australia, the duo’s new record Life Support with “Lost in Love” made it to Top 10 in Australia and made its way to Clive David in New York, a big-time music industry executive of the day. He ended up signing Air Supply to Arista Records in 1980. “Lost in Love” became a fast-selling single around the world and topped all the charts. Their second single “All Out of Love” went up the charts even faster. Over time, Air Supply made seven top-five singles – equaling The Beatles with consecutive top five singles.

Experience the music of Air Supply on Friday, November 12, 2021, at 8 p.m.

Mary Chapin Carpenter, Marc Cohn, Shawn Colvin: Together in Concert

Listen to the Grammy-award winning musicians Mary Chapin Carpenter, Marc Cohn, and Shawn Colvin on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. as they grace the stage for a night of storytelling and songs.

Mary Chapin Carpenter’s hits “Passionate Kisses” and “He Thinks He’ll Keep Her” resulted in Carpenter winning five Grammy Awards, two CMA awards, and two Academy of Country Music awards. Mary is one of the fifteen female members of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Over the course of her career, she has sold over 15 million records. Marc Cohn earned his Grammy win for “Walking in Memphis,” which set him as one of this generation’s most captivating songwriters who can combine the skills of a tunesmith with soul. His ballads are full of blues, gospel, and blues that draw out stories to awaken human feelings such as love, hope, faith, joy, and heartbreak. Shawn Colvin’s debut album Steady On won her first Grammy award for Best Contemporary Folk Album. She has been a pillar in the contemporary folk genre and even released thirteen glorious albums that manifested her as one of America’s most respected live performers. Her songs create a cleanse for audiences.

There’s a new hot dog in town and its name is Portillo’s. Portillo’s originally started in Chicago and gained tremendous popularity resulting in more than 60 locations across the continental US. The newest location is Orlando, Florida. Enjoy their famous Chicago-style dogs, sandwiches, burgers, ribs, pasta, cheese fries, chocolate cake, and chocolate shake cake while taking in the vintage-style diner experience. Check out Portillo’s because they are the real dill.

Orlando can be described as less of a city and more of a collection of suburbs. You’ve got Audubon Park, SoDo, Ivanhoe Village, Mills 50, and College Park, to name a few. Each of these districts has a unique vibe, a stamp of personality that sets it apart from the next. Orlando Main Streets takes 10 of these neighborhoods and brings their local small businesses together to help support each other. Restaurant Week, the annual event held in the first full week of August, promotes the culinary side of Orlando Main Streets.

Restaurants are encouraged to offer a limited prix fixe menu at specific price points across lunch and dinner with a maximum of $30 for a meal. Following the trends from previous events, you can expect this year’s Restaurant Week to run sometime around the week of August 5, although no official date has been announced yet.

As with the dates for the event, official participating restaurants have not yet been listed, but there are a few popular spots that have participated every year so far. Standouts include Maxine’s on Shine, Mesa 21, Kres Chophouse, The Soda Fountain, and Hawkers Asian Street Fare. A full list of participants in previous years can be found online here:

Bring your inner foodie out on your vacation this August and visit some of these restaurants during your time here in Orlando. Rosen Inn Closest to Universal provides convenient access to Orlando’s major highways, allowing you to easily get to any of these restaurants for a meal. Book your stay online today by clicking the button in the upper right corner or by calling 407-996-4444.

Anyone even remotely familiar with American barbecue as a cuisine knows that there are several distinct regional styles. The competition between these regions for the best barbecue has been and always will be intense. Traditionally, barbecue hotspots have been places like Texas, St. Louis, Kentucky, Alabama, and the Carolinas. As the city of Orlando grows in size, so too does its presence in the world of barbecue, with several new entries to the local scene over the past few years.

The Polite Pig

It wouldn’t be an Orlando list without a mention of Disney, but The Polite Pig certainly deserves a spot on this list regardless of its Disney status. This Disney Springs favorite features a menu with more range than you would expect from a barbecue restaurant, but this makes sense—it is Disney, after all. Of course, anything Disney tends to cost a bit more than comparable places (what locals affectionately call “the Disney tax”), but a meal at The Polite Pig is worth every penny.

Must-try item: Baby Back Ribs, made with a special dry-rub and Layla’s Sweet BBQ Sauce.

Bubbalou’s Bodacious BBQ

Bubbalou’s has been serving Orlando barbecue since 1986, longer than any other restaurant on this list. In that time, they have racked up a number of awards—not only from local publications like the Orlando Sentinel and Orlando Magazine, but from national institutions like USA Today, Southern Living, the New York Times, and the Food Network.

Must-try item: 3 Pig Platter, featuring a healthy serving of pulled pork, sliced pork, and spare ribs.

4 Rivers Smokehouse

4 Rivers is probably the most iconic of the Orlando barbecue restaurants. Established in Winter Park in 2009, 4 Rivers quickly became a city favorite, and then a state favorite as they pulled in traffic from all over Florida. Their original restaurant was tiny—the line was always out the door and usually ended up wrapping around the building. They have since expanded to 14 restaurants, including the first one outside of Florida in Atlanta. Keep an eye out for their bumper stickers when you’re in town: “Peace, Love, 4R” has become somewhat of a mantra around here.

Must-try item: Signature Angus Brisket, smoked for 18 hours and seasoned with a signature rub, sliced lean or moist.

Cecil’s Texas Style Barbeque

Cecil’s has taken on the responsibility of bringing good, old-fashioned, Texas-style barbecue to Orlando for nearly 30 years now. All their meats are hickory-smoked for hours on end, making them so tender that you don’t even need a knife to cut into them. Cecil’s may not be attempting to revolutionize the world of barbecue, but in this world of slow-cooking and sweet tea, some things don’t need to change.

Must-try item: Pork loin, a very generous portion of meat served with two sides and Texas toast.

Pig Floyd’s Urban Barbakoa

If any one of these restaurants provides a distinct identity in the world of barbecue, it is Pig Floyd’s. Serving up everything from banh mi to pork al pastor tacos, this diverse barbecue restaurant pulls inspiration from Orlando’s similarly diverse population in combining traditional barbecue styles with a wide variety of cultural flavors. Simply put, if you are looking for a new favorite restaurant, Pig Floyd’s should be on your shortlist.

Must-try item: The Big Floyd, a combination of Fred Stokes sausage, pulled pork, and Oakwood-smoked brisket topped with citrus peanut slaw and french fries, served on a coconut pineapple roll.

Each of these delectable restaurants is easily accessible from Rosen Inn Universal, the perfect home base for your summer Orlando vacation. Book your stay now by clicking the button in the upper right corner or by calling (407) 996-4444.
