Outside of the actual Mardi Gras celebrations that take place in New Orleans, Universal Studios Florida puts on the biggest and brightest Mardi Gras celebrations each year. Mardi Gras 2019 is shaping up to follow this trend as well, with great concerts, parades, and performances to come.
The big-name artists for 2019’s Mardi Gras concert line-up have yet to be announced. Last year’s announcement went out around early January, and including all kinds of music, from Macklemore and Fifth Harmony to Foreigner and The Beach Boys. This post will be updated when the list of performers is released, so be sure to check back here.
This is the part of the Mardi Gras celebration that everyone is likely most familiar with already: the street performances, the beads-tossing by vibrant and imaginative dancers atop intricate floats, all of the confetti… It really makes for a wonderful and memorable experience, and Universal Studios does a great job of keeping it kid-friendly as well (in comparison to the sometimes-raucous nature of the same celebration in New Orleans).
Food and Music
You’ve got your red beans and rice, your shrimp n’ grits, your spicy gumbo, your kickin’ jambalaya, and pretty much every other type of genuine New Orleans cuisine available for purchase, all while enjoying the authentic Louisiana jazz, blues, and big band musical styles. Oh, and let’s not forget to mention the beignets. For the uninitiated, a beignet is a French pastry that is essentially a fried doughnut usually topped with powdered sugar. When eaten warm and fresh, they are so much better than words can describe.
Rosen Inn Universal is just minutes away from Universal Orlando Resort and their Mardi Gras celebration. Book your stay today online or via telephone by calling 1-407-996-4444.
