The iconic roller coaster that greets you upon your arrival at Universal’s Islands of Adventure has been getting a facelift. The fan-favorite is set to reopen in the latter half of the summer with a completely new feel. Everything from the track layout, to the ride car, to the sound effects have been redesigned to give riders even more thrills.
The changes are so extensive that even the entrance to the ride is getting a makeover. Guests will walk under the green beast himself holding an actual piece of the original track. The ride vehicles will feature futuristic and sleek styling. Along with the aesthetic changes, on-board audio will play the original score developed for The Hulk movies right in the headrests.
As many riders know, a trademark of The Hulk is the signature slingshot launch that shoots you out of a tunnel right into an aggressive corkscrew. Fans of this will be happy to know that the tunnel is being revamped, complete with brand-new special effects.
While there is no exact opening date for the overhauled thrill ride yet, Universal has confirmed that the ride will indeed reopen in the late part of the summer. If you’re planning a vacation to Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure is on your list of must-do activities, the Rosen Inn is a perfect option for you. We’re located just a few miles from Universal Orlando Resort and right in the heart of International Drive—never far from the action.
