Ice Skating in Orlando

Whether you glide on ice with strength and grace or waddle awkwardly about like a penguin, there is no doubt about it – ice skating is fun. If you were worried you might miss out on ice skating while vacationing in sunny Florida, fear not. It may be warm outside but there are plenty of indoor and outdoor opportunities for ice skating in Orlando. Check out some of our favorite spots to enjoy this classic winter pastime all year long.

Seasonal Ice Skating

Light Up UCF

Each year, Light Up UCF brings holiday cheer to Central Florida in the form of carnival rides, a holiday market, and Orlando’s largest outdoor ice skating rink made of real ice. The rink has no age restriction, so it is perfect for families looking to enjoy a fun ice skating experience in Orlando during the holidays. As you skate, “The Rinkmaster” DJ spins a mix of holiday classics and top 40 hits. Don’t forget to try out the 100 ft. long Arctic Glide Ice Slide.

Now Snowing Celebration

Another Central Florida holiday classic, Now Snowing Celebration includes an ice skating rink as well as a host of other festive activities all season long. Located in the center of Celebration’s picturesque town, this outdoor synthetic ice rink is just the right size for youngsters lacing up their skates for the very first time. After your skating session, be sure to stick around for the highly anticipated nightly snow flurries.

Year-Round Ice Skating

RDV Ice Den

For an indoor ice skating experience, visit the RDV Ice Den. This NHL-sized ice rink welcomes all skill levels during public skating hours and offers both figure and hockey skates for rental. Be sure to bundle up! The rink must be kept at cool temperatures so dress in warm layers that allow you to move freely. In addition to renting skating equipment, you can also purchase gear at the Ice Den Pro Shop.

The Ice Factory

This year-round facility includes two ice rinks, making it ideal for both first-timers and seasoned skaters. Public skating is available every day in both the NHL-sized rink and the smaller rink. Check out their schedule for theme skating nights, including disco lights, top 100, latin dance, country, and more. Of course, you’ll want to dress warmly for skating here as well so be sure to pack hats, gloves, and sweaters if you plan on skating at an indoor rink.
