How It Works
July’s Thornton 2nd Thursday Wine & Art Walk takes place on July 11 at 6:30 p.m. You’ll begin your tour at Allora Day Spa at 712 East Washington Street. Here you’ll purchase your ticket for just $15 (cash only) and receive a wristband, a wine glass, and a map of all the participating businesses. As you make way to the various locations for wine and other libations, you’ll meet local Orlando artists selling their creations. Be sure to bring extra cash in case you want to purchase some art to take home as a souvenir or unique gift.
Notable Orlando Bars and Restaurants
As you follow the route for Thornton 2nd Thursday Wine & Art Walk, you’ll visit some popular local hangouts offering wine and other drinks. With 27 participating businesses you’re bound to discover something new, and maybe even a place you’d like to return to during the weekend. Here’s a peek at some of the exciting locations you’ll visit during the wine and art walk:
Aku Aku Tiki Bar
Inspired by the famous 1960 Las Vegas bar of the same name, Aku Aku is delightfully kitschy. The intriguing décor and popular tropical cocktails of Orlando’s only true tiki bar will beckon you back long after your wine and art walk visit.
Eola Gallery
During Thornton 2nd Thursdays, there is no such thing as too much art. After refiling your wine glass at the Eola Gallery, be sure to take a look around at some of the amazing work by emerging artists in Central Florida.
Jinya Ramen
If you’re feeling hungry, you’ll definitely want to take some extra time to eat when you stop at Jinya Ramen. In addition to wine, Jinya has all the ramen your heart desires, as well as mini tacos and curry.
Exploring Thornton Park
In guiding you to local artists and businesses, the Thornton 2nd Thursday Wine & Art Walk map also leads you on a tour of this charming neighborhood. Known as downtown Orlando’s trendiest district, Thornton Park is home to upscale dining outlets and local boutiques, many of which have been highlighted in national magazines and websites. Community is strong in Thornton Park and half the fun of the Thornton 2nd Thursday Wine & Art Walk events is chatting with locals and making new friends. As you enjoy the wine walk, you’ll want to pause at the Four Rivers Fountain, a replica of the Fontaine Louvois in Paris. A wine glass selfie by the fountain with new friends is the perfect way to remember your Orlando vacation.
