Since transforming into a live performance venue, The Plaza Live has hosted a who’s who list of top artists. Here is a look at who you can expect to see at Orlando’s longest-running concert hall this June.
Plaza Live Orlando June Lineup
Yngwie Malmsteen
Yngwie Malmsteen is a guitarist, songwriter, and composer from Stockholm, Sweden. He is one of the biggest names in neoclassical metal music.
Although Malmsteen grew up playing the piano and trumpet, he had no interest in music until he saw a TV special on the death of the iconic guitarist Jimi Hendrix. Malmsteen later immersed himself in classical music, particularly the Italian violinist Niccolò Paganini. He also took an interest in Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, one of the first artists to blend hard rock and classical sounds.
Rising Force was Malmsteen’s first studio album. It was met with critical acclaim and earned him a Grammy nomination. Malmsteen is back with a new release titled Parabellum, his first album since 2019.
Come rock out to Malmsteen at the Plaza Live Orlando on Friday, June 3, 2022, at 8 p.m.
Symphony X
Symphony X is an American metal band founded in 1994 by songwriter and guitarist Michael Romeo.
The band’s musical style is a mixture of progressive rock, heavy metal, and neoclassical sounds. The band went on hiatus in 2017, but not before releasing their most refined album, Underworld, a musical blend of their previous albums The Odyssey and Paradise Lost. The band is now back on tour to celebrate their 25th anniversary.
Symphony X takes the Plaza Live stage on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 7 p.m.
