Join Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change at 8 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021, for a night of laughter, banter, dancing, and more on their debut theatrical world tour. Fans will know Bob the Drag Queen as the season eight winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Monét X Change won Miss Congeniality on season 10 of the show and then returned to win season four of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars. The duo are the comedy masterminds behind the podcast “Sibling Rivalry” and, even though they are not actual siblings, their chemistry is apparent and hilarious on both the podcast and the tour.
Originally scheduled to appear at The Plaza Live on Thursday, November 5, 2020, Louisiana singer and instrumentalist, Tab Benoit’s blues can now be experienced on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. Benoit has been playing guitar since he was a teenager growing up in Houma, Louisiana. With a soulfully spicy musical style that is as diverse as his Cajun upbringing, Benoit has been known for blending old school blues with country in his collaborations with artists like Cyril Neville, Dr. John, and Maria Muldaur. Benoit took home both the B.B. King Entertainer of the Year and Best Contemporary Male Performer at the Blues Music Awards in 2007. In 2010, he won the Governor’s Award for Conservationist of the Year for his work as an environmental activist.
Stephen Lynch: The My Old Heart Tour
Laugh and sing along with Stephen Lynch on Friday, May 7, 2021, for his “My Old Heart Tour.” Lynch is a comedian, musician, and actor who has released four studio albums, four live albums and has been a featured stand-up twice on Comedy Central Presents. Lynch starred in the Broadway musical The Wedding Singer in 2006, which earned him nominations for Tony, Drama League, and Drama Desk awards. Lynch is scheduled to hit the Plaza Live stage at 8:00 p.m.
Witness Buddy Guy perform his eighteenth solo album, The Blues Is Alive and Well, on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. A 15-song follow-up to his 2015 album Born to Play Guitar, for which he won the Grammy for Best Blues Album, The Blues Is Alive and Well features collaborations with guest artists such as James Bay, Jeff Beck, and The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. The 81-year-old musician has made it his career-long goal to keep the blues alive. When listening to his music, it’s easy to see that he’s succeeded.
